SOUND OF THE GAVEL

The sound of the gavel Shapes our lives It tramples upon the wishes of the people and elevates theirs like fire flies. It is powerful in their Hands As with just its sound a new order stands. Through their "nay" our plight Is squashed The motive entangled in their services is innately whitewashed. They transform to combatants In passing the bills and become Violent Now, even the gavel is silent. The sound of the gavel affirms their "ayes" And the nations' good is shifted to white accounts. Leaving us the dregs of the nations' honey as with honey tongues they blindfold the citizens' eyes. Oh gavel! You confirm their will to nibble The lucre of tax payers and erect skyscrapers despite our Maunders Your claws choke our interests And besmirch the pride of our nation. You succumb to the whims Of paunchy scoundrels and Allow pot-bellied pigs to make a machinery of you and unleash Anguish on the people. Your sound is not loud In justice, The...

A PARLIAMENT OF OWLS ---A TRIBUTE

Our hearts are aimed With the devil's dart The "parliament" soar over Us and make "Things Fall Apart" The Panging tumult of youths Reminds us that "There Was A Country" But its legacy is marooned To rot by sycophancy "No Longer At Ease" are The passengers of this yacht The bills that steer this Boat has brought minor "Girls At War" for freedom These owls spin their Eyes for the ruby, Hit the mace on their Head, for we know the "The Trouble With Niger Area", And it's not this area. We are "Home and Exiled" Our sons' plights have not Yet been filed These carnivores prey on Our flocks, With our eyes we watch Our flocks hemmed in Their claws. The blood hunt is on, Let "A Man Of The People" Run with the wind and Hunt with the "Arrow Of God". Execute this parliament Of owls and this boat Shall reach the "Anthills of the Savannah"--- E...

He moved with warpped Steps and smiled to her She paused, and was wrapped In fear as her heart almost Failed her He winked and moved Closer, With the shiny foil in His hands, he nobbled her. Ignorantly, she took his Warm hands as her father's But the thought in his Heart was nothing to wonder In that hour, she gave in. As he held her close and Took her in. Now he swooned into and ruptured Her little slimy depth She wailed! And her tears touched The bowels of the earth Ah! She has been deceived With a moan of satisfaction He was relieved Oh! For yonks, such stigma Will not be eased, But injustice will have him Early released. This a wake up call, Stand up and guard your Hearts with God's word. The lives of these unscrupulous Beings shall not flourish 'Coz this scandal shall not be Lifted unpunished

MY ODYSSEY

Just like yesterday, it all seemed just like yesterday. Oh! My memories were like that of a new born, like the flash of a lightening so it was when I stepped foot onto the soil from which I emanated…indeed, it was like yesterday. Like a missionary in a strange land, so was it to me. Everything seemed ashamed of me for I did not recognize them, yet they did. Everyone that came in contact with me did, for they had missed me; they had my childhood image embedded in their hearts and minds. It’s been yonks and all they had of me was that image which they complemented with the imagination of my look and so, they welcomed me.                 The trees; the local breeze; the thatched houses; the old and the young; the environment and even the aura; all welcomed me. It was kingly, so they made it. Was there a feast? Or a d...
